Increasing Windows Page File
July 2nd, 2009
A page file in the Windows operating system is a temporary source of memory used by the system in processing functions. The problem is that if your page file is too small, then your computer might be suffering from poor performance. Fortunately, there is a way to increase the page file and you can do it by right clicking on My Computer -> Properties->Advanced Tab -> Settings. After clicking on the advanced button you can change the size of your virtual memory. Most computers do not need this adjustment, but you may want to verify if your page file is around 1.5 times the amount of your RAM, as this is the recommended setting.
