Viewing Ads #2

July 6th, 2009 Comments off

As I mentioned in my previous post, Clixsense is a company that pays its users to view ads. When it comes to the reaction to this program in the community, there is not a consensus when it comes to agreeing if this is a good money making program or not. Many people joined the program, because they have nothing to lose. Overall, I think this is a good opportunity to check out, but it depends on what are your objectives. That is why I have listed below for whom this program may be attractive.

For whom this program might be especially attractive:

-People who do not mind viewing ads. Since you can indicate your interests you might come across some ads which you will benefit from.
-People who are able to have referrals signed under them. You could potentially earn a lot more this way.
-People who want to learn how Get Paid to View Ads systems work.
-People willing to experiment with buying premium membership.

For whom this program might not be as attractive:
-People wanting to earn a lot of money very quickly. I do not believe this is the ultimate money making opportunity. However, a little money is better than nothing.
-People hating ads. We are used to spam arriving at our mailbox, so I imagine some people simply cannot stand spam or ads.

If you have any experience with this company, then let me know by posting a comment.

Viewing Ads

July 6th, 2009 Comments off

From time to time, I like to inform my readers of some ways to make extra cash. This time I will focus on a relatively unknown company. Clixsense is a company that pays its users to view ads. Basically, you get paid for browsing ads and viewing them for 30 seconds. You can view up to 5 ads per day, and you get paid for viewing each ad from $0.01 up to $5. Usually you will be paid from $0.01 to $0.1. You can select the type of ads you wish to view, so they can match your interests. You can also select all of them, since you can earn more money this way. Payments are made by check on the 10th each month, provided that your earnings amounted to $10. If your account balance is less than $10, earnings will carry forward until you have met the minimum check requirement.
This company also offers an affiliate program where you earn 10% of the revenues collected from your referrals and 50% commission on any member you refer who upgrades their account to premium status. Premium status enables you to view more ads, but costs $10. I do not think you should upgrade to premium status, because I do not believe you should pay for money making programs.

Wonders of Technology

July 2nd, 2009 Comments off

Have you ever been amazed at the progress of technology? Have you ever wondered how it is possible that you can communicate with people through the Internet, can play online games with them, and can do a lot more interesting things? It is fascinating to live in the 21st century. At this stage, I wonder what the future will bring us. It is not easy to imagine what devices we will be using in the future. After all, with the technology already so advanced, what else can still we still invent? On the other hand, 100 years ago people did not even dream about the Internet. I guess we will just have to wait to see.

ClixSense a Scam?

June 30th, 2009 Comments off

ClixSense is a money making opportunity that is all about viewing ads for money. They also pay $5 for each referral that decides to upgrade their account to premium. However, the problem is that there are almost no ads available to view, and they usually only pay one cent anyway. You could potentially make money with this company by referring others to upgrade their account to premium. However, the problem is that then the mechanic of it would resemble a pyramid scheme. That is because only those who refer others would really earn money. Since I do not like the idea of such programs, I cannot recommend it, as I want the readers of my blog to actually earn money not only by having many referrals.
Personally, I did not lose any of my money on this program, and by reading about ClixSense I gained some knowledge about how such programs work. I think there are a lot of better programs available to earn money on the web such as AdSense. You could potentially earn hundreds of dollars per month if you have a lot of traffic. Just keep in mind that you need an established website to earn any serious money with AdSense. Adsense is all about traffic and targeted advertising.

Searching

June 16th, 2009 Comments off

Wikipedia is with no doubt the biggest online encyclopedia. Many people around the world use it to find the answers to their questions. Until very recently, the only downside were the search options. To search for something you had to type exactly a keyword that you were interested in. That was all you could do. However, some time ago with the help of Powersets technology, the search feature was drastically improved, and right now it resembles a lot more Googles search feature. I must say that a reliable search function is very important, because many users have problems searching for various terms on many websites. The fact that the newest search technology breaks down keywords into related concepts enabling better search methods is thrilling and innovative.

April Fools Jokes

April 1st, 2009 Comments off

Internet it is a perfect place to be anonymous. No wonder that people take advantage out of this fact during April Fools Day to make jokes wherever possible As a matter of fact, not only individuals, but even companies seem to make jokes by tracking people into believing something. For example, last year during April Fools Day Blizzard, the creator of the most popular online game World of Warcraft, stated that it was working on a new title based on a popular movie. Of course, it was just a joke and I highly suggest that you do not take anything seriously during this day, especially if you read it over the Internet. Gamers are already speculating what joke will Blizzard come up with this year.

The World According to Teens

March 25th, 2009 Comments off

The technology is changing fast, really fast. A lot of Internet users are in their twenties or thirties, and remember growing up without the access to the Internet. However, these days access to technology such as Internet is very easy. For those born in the nineties, the world looks different completely when it comes to technology. Let’s look at a few observations on how the world looks like according to 14 year olds:

-There has always been Internet.
-There have always been CDs and DVDs.
-There have always been digital cameras.
-The first Nintendo Games Boys are older than they are.
-Answering machines, cordless phones, and cell phones have been around for as long as they can remember.
-The first portable MP3 players came out before they were in school.

Google Blacklisting

March 6th, 2009 Comments off

Some of you might have heard that John Chow was blacklisted by Google. John ranked as one of the top results when it comes to keywords like ‘make money online’, but even though he got blacklisted long time ago, he still did not get ranked high for phrases like ‘make money online’. Additionally, he still does not appear on the first 3-4 pages after you type ‘John Chow’ in Google. Google was for a long time redirecting anyone typing ‘John Chow’ in their search engine to pages that explain why he got punished. Google claims that John got punished for his questionable link building tactics that the company obviously dislikes. It seems that not ignoring Google’s requirements and preferences might be a good idea. My advice is that your website does not contain anything controversial that Google might dislike. As you see from the above example, it is better not to mess with Google.

Quality and Digg

February 17th, 2009 Comments off

Among other things, Digg has always been a great place to submit interesting articles and stories. Users are given the possibility to cast a vote on those articles by digging. While Digg has helped the Internet community, many believe that there has been a decline in the quality of articles on Digg. The problem is that Digg changed its algorithm to artificially favor articles posted in certain categories, such as politics and news over articles in different categories like technology. Additionally, it artificially favors new users over long-time active users. The problem is that the algorithm favors diversity, but results in poorer content. Some users are getting rewarded more frequently even though they dont perform as well as others. Until Digg makes some changes in its algorithm, this situation may continue.

“Email This Article”

January 31st, 2009 Comments off

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usYou might have noticed that many websites have the Email this article link on many of their pages. There are also many popular blogs which are doing the same. The main reason for integrating such a feature is the hope of acquiring new visitors. If an article contains very valuable content, then the news of it is going to spread very quickly. It wouldn’t be possible without such a link.
The best way to add this feature to your blog is to use a plugin. All you will have to do is upload the chosen plugin to your plugins directory and enable it. There are several plugins for this purpose, but one of my favorites is WP-Email and email2friend.
Once your readers realize that you added this new feature, you might start noticing new visitors flocking to your site. Those might be people who otherwise would have never heard of your site.
